Back Roads Art was born in 2006 as owners Steve and Denise Jarrett looked for interesting metal art for their yard. What they found in various shops and landscape centers was an assortment of flimsy metal work manufactured overseas. As frequent visitors to art fairs and independent shops and galleries around the Midwest and Southwest, they knew that better options existed. Over the next several years they made contact with numerous metal artists, chainsaw carvers and other folk artists whose work is featured in the shop. In 2011 they moved the shop to Weston, Missouri and found their ideal location. Today you will find Back Roads Art in a historic building in the middle of Weston’s bustling downtown, surrounded by other shops, restaurants, a historic distillery and several wineries.
